  • About

Suicide affects families, friends and communities every day. In the UK, more than 6,000 people die by suicide each year.

The Zero Suicide Alliance (ZSA) wants this to change believing ONE life lost to suicide is one TOO MANY

The ZSA aims to empower, educate and equip individuals and organisations to recognise the role they can play in supporting suicide awareness and prevention across our communities.

The ZSA's free online training courses have collectively been taken over 3 million times worldwide, helping more people recognise the signs of suicide and increase confidence so more people feel able to talk about suicide, feel more confident talking about suicide, and know how to intervene when they’re worried about someone.

More than 90% of learners rate the training as excellent or good.

Mersey Cares NHS Charity helps the ZSA remain sustainable and expand its accessible training opportunities. Your support helps us to do this and so far, we’ve supported the ZSA to fund:

  • The redevelopment of the ZSA’s flagship Suicide Awareness Training
  • New Social Isolation and Loneliness Training
  • New Healthcare Staff and Suicide Awareness Training
  • A British Sign Language translation of the Autism and Suicide Awareness Training
  • New Supporting a Stranger Suicide Awareness Training
  • Annual train-a-thon suicide awareness virtual training sessions for World Suicide Prevention Day.

We want to continue supporting the ZSA to reach more communities, develop new training and ensure more people have the skills and confidence to help prevent suicide.

Your support, big or small, helps make a difference.

The Zero Suicide Alliance is hosted by Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust and charitably funded via Mersey Cares NHS Charity (charity registration number: 1191576)
