My Story

Hi everyone! 

On Sunday 14th December I will be running a 10K round Aintree Racecourse's famous grounds! Participating in (and hopefully completing!) this event will be a massive achievement for me and I'd love for your support on this journey of mine. 

I'll be running on behalf of Mersey Cares, the Mersey Care NHS Foundation Charity, set up to serve the health needs of local communities in the Liverpool area. 

Mersey Cares is the official charity for Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust and was set up during lockdown to bring comfort and hope to patients, families, and staff beyond what NHS budgets can alone provide. As a previous recipient of excellent maternal mental health support from Silverbirch (which is part of the Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust) following the birth of my daughter Sybil - I can say the work that they do lies close to my heart.

Initiatives have included providing gifts for looked-after children at Christmas, developing monthly support groups for service users with young-onset dementia and the creation of a suicide-awareness training tool for mental health organisations to use.

What we've made possible :: Mersey Care Charity

Now as an employee of Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, I'm looking to raise £200 (that's £20 pounds for each kilometer) in aid of this cause. I will have my beautiful daughter Sybil and partner Christian with me to cheer me on on the day, and I look forward to sharing some very sweaty photos of the event when I'm finished!
