Rosie's National 3 Peak Challenge

My Story
I'm aiming complete the National 3 Peak Challenge from September 6th and September 8th. I'm aiming to raise as much money as possible for Mersey Cares Charity.
I've been a GP in Liverpool for over 20 years and joined Mersey Care in 2019 just before the Covid Pandemic and am passionate about keeping people well in the communities that they live in.
Set up in 2020 following unprecedented demands on our health services during the COVID-19 pandemic, Mersey Cares is the Mersey Care NHS Charity that plays a vital and growing role in working alongside the Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust to serve the health needs of our communities; to help people keep well and living well at home for longer.
Together enhancing life-long health, care and wellbeing support
Funding projects that improve care and facilities for patients and communities across Cheshire and Merseyside, we work alongside our staff to prioritise where funds are needed most; ensuring community initiatives are given a greater chance of thriving. Together, we believe we can enhance and exceed expectations of the health, care and wellbeing available to the people we serve; helping the NHS go further
We want everyone in our communities to have good health and we plan to tackle the social and structural barriers that can get in the way
1. We want ZERO suicides and are supporting the education and awareness surrounding mental health and suicide prevention to empower change within our communities.
2. We want equal health and a life beyond services and are supporting innovative social support and recovery programmes to address social inequality and further increase confidence, skills and connection to all.
3. We want to enhance support for our carers and develop services that can help improve the emotional and physical wellbeing of carers within our communities.
4. We want to reduce the pressure on NHS staff and further provide an enhanced support offer to staff and volunteers who are struggling with their mental health, wellbeing and/or financial hardship
Monies donated to the charity will NOT be used towards usual NHS purchases, but for facilities, activities and developments that can support better care for patients outside of the NHS' scope.
We work alongside our staff to prioritise where funds are needed most – this allows us to introduce innovative community projects, provide advanced medical equipment and help patients, staff and their families at times of serious financial hardship
I've seen patients and staff overcome challenges every day either to stay well in the community or to deliver care to the communities that they serve.
Please support me to complete this challenge in support of Mersey Cares Charity.
